IE Associate Professor Juan Wachs spent the fall semester of 2016 as a Fulbright Scholar in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Wachs is one of Purdue's seven faculty members who are Fulbright Scholars for the 2016-2017 award year.

“The Fulbright was a fantastic experience both professionally and culturally," said Wachs. "I got to conduct research at the Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA) at the Computer Science Department working in the field of face expression generation and recognition. With the support of the Fulbright fellowship I was able to focus on the proposed research problems while getting involved in academic activities at UBA and foster new working relationships."

According to Purdue News (June 19): "The Fulbright Scholar program is part of the U.S. government’s flagship international educational exchange program and is sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the United States Department of State. It enables faculty to share their teaching and research expertise in one of over 160 participating countries around the world."
