Konkel is the manufacturing lead on GE Healthcare’s Plant Pulse Optimizer, a standard Brilliant Factory visualization platform that uses GE's Predix software to make faster, data-driven decisions in factories. She has also established production layouts for several new products.

"It's a huge honor and a great way to represent GE and Purdue!" said Konkel.

Forbes magazine annually compiles the "30 Under 30" list of the brightest young entrepreneurs, innovators and game changers.

While a Purdue IE student, Konkel also demonstrated artistic ability by co-winning (with Emily Oskay) the first prize of the 2013 inaugural “Beautify Grissom” painting contest.
