Fri., Jan. 19 at 4pm - Searching for Summer Undergraduate Research

Purdue students can apply to summer undergraduate research programs at Purdue and off-campus. Summer research programs can be a great time to expand your discipline knowledge full-time. This presentation will discuss how to search for summer research programs and how to apply for these opportunities. This presentation is delivered during the summer research application period. Register for this seminar.

Tues., Jan. 23 at 6pm in SC 108 - Searching for Summer Undergraduate Research Student Workshop

Join the Undergraduate Research Society of Purdue's meeting as they help individuals search and apply for summer research opportunities. Individuals who could not attend the previous session can and should attend this workshop.

Thurs., Jan. 25 from 2-5pm - Undergraduate Research Roundtable

This event brings undergraduate research mentors and programs seeking applicants together with students seeking opportunities to learn more about available opportunities. This event is similar to a job/career fair with all colleges and schools invited. This virtual event will occur in Discord. RSVP to receive the link or check back for the entrance link the day of the Research Roundtable.

Thurs., Feb. 1 at 4:30pm in SC 102 - Undergraduate Research Well-being Student Workshop

Join the Undergraduate Research Society of Purdue to discuss important topics for undergraduate researchers including time management, working with your research mentor, balancing your academics with research, and other topics YOU want to address. Encouraged for current researchers and open for students wanting to get involved.

Wed., Feb. 7 at 4pm - Undergrad Research 101: Where to Start

Learn how to search and apply for undergraduate research opportunities at Purdue. This presentation will discuss the various types of research opportunities, how to find programs or potential mentors, and how to approach the application/email process. Register for this seminar.

Thur., Feb. 15 at 4pm - How to Write an Abstract and Apply to the Spring Conference

In preparation for the Spring Undergraduate Research Conference abstract submission deadline on March 1, this seminar will discuss how to write an abstract with common components, how to submit it for the Spring Conference, and what to expect as a presenter at the event. This seminar is open to those who want to learn how to write an abstract, but may not be applying to the Conference. Register for this seminar.

Wed., Feb. 21 at 10am - Marketing Yourself for Undergraduate Research

Learn how to describe yourself on your resumé/CV, within emails, in your interviews, during networking events, and on your online profiles that could help you locate research positions. Leverage the hard work you have put into your courses, experiences, and/or projects for a research position at Purdue or beyond. Register for this seminar.

Wed., March 20 from 7-9pm - Undergraduate Research Pitch Competition in LWSN 1142

The Undergraduate Research Pitch Competition highlights undergraduate researchers' projects while promoting concise and effective storytelling during this event celebrating undergraduate research. Current and past undergraduate researchers present a 3-minute research pitch about their work. Co-hosted by the Undergraduate Research Society of Purdue.

Mon., March 25 at 4pm - Presenting Your Research: Posters

The 2024 Spring Undergraduate Research Conference is an opportunity for Purdue undergraduate researchers to showcase the scholarly work and creative endeavors they have been engaged in through presentations. The Spring Conference will include in-person posters, in-person research talks, and virtual presentations. To present, submit your abstract by March 1 at noon EST.

Thurs., April 18 from 11am-1pm - Celebrate Purdue's Thinkers, Creators, & Experimenters

Celebrate allows undergrads in research or creative endeavors to engage attendees by showcasing their work in this up-close symposium to win awards! This "non-poster, poster session" encourages participants to bring their research to the PMU South Ballroom for attendees to learn what they are working on through the five senses.

Wed., April 24 at 4pm - Marketing Your Undergraduate Research Experiences

Conducting research and/or presenting your work develops many skills that you should market. You must highlight those skills, experiences, and results to leverage the hard work you have put into your project when applying for additional research projects, internships, graduate programs, and/or jobs. You will learn how to describe your work on projects on your resumé/CV, in your interviews, and during networking events. Register for this seminar.
