Spilling the Tea

Monthly Program | 5 to 6 pm | NAECC

Engagement series with invited guests sharing stories centered on Indigenous traditions, ecosystems, and advocacy (TEA). Each week includes traditional Native American teas.

NAECC Spring Film Series featuring "Native America"

Monday, March 4th thru Thursday, March 7th | 6:00 - 7:30 pm | NAECC 

A four-part film series featuring Native American directors, "Native America" showcases the resilience and power of Indigenous People. This film series is produced by PBS and funding provided by Partnership with Native Americans.

Monday, March 4: "Warrior Spirit"

"Across Native America, warrior traditions support incredible athletes and connect people to combat, games, and glory. Celebrate and honor the men and women who live and breathe this legacy today." - PBS

Tuesday, March 5: "New World"

"Native innovators lead a revolution in music, building, and space exploration. From the surface of Mars to the New York City hip hop scene to the Pine Ridge Reservation, Native traditions are transforming life on Earth and other worlds." - PBS

Wednesday, March 6: "Women Rule"

"Native women are leading, innovating, and inspiring in the arts, politics, and protecting the planet. Native America explores the diverse ways they carry forward deep traditions to better their communities, their land, and the world." 

Thursday, March 7: "Language Is Life"

"Celebrate the power of Native languages and the inspirational people who are saving them. From secret recordings to 'Star Wars' films dubbed in Navajo, following the revolutionary steps transforming Native America." - PBS

Spring Lunchbox Book Discussion - "The Seed Keeper"

Wednesday, April 3 | 12:00 noon - 1:00 pm | NAECC

Join us for this book discussion and lunch featuring "The Seed Keeper" by author Diane Wilson (Dakota). "Weaving together the voices of four indelible women, 'The Seed Keeper' is a beautifully told story of reawakening, of remembering our original relationships to the seeds, and through them, our ancestors." - Milkweed Edition

Express Fest

Wednesday, August 23 | 11:00 am - 2:00 pm | Cultural Center Lawn

Annual open house welcoming students to the fall semester featuring student resource fair, connect with Purdue departments and organizations, live performance, and tours of the cultural centers.  

Event held in collaboration with the Asian American and Asian Resource Cultural Center (AAARCC), Latino Cultural Center (LCC), and funding support from the Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (ODIB)


A Conversation with Oklahoma Cherokee Artist Bryan Waytula 

Thursday, September 14 | 3:00 - 4:30 pm | NAECC 

As part of the Eiteljorg Museum's Artist-in-Residence, Bryant Waytula (Cherokee) from Sand Springs, Oklahoma will join us on campus for an enlightening conversation focused on his artistic journey and his motivation from his mother and grandmother, both considered Cherokee Treasures in the art of basketry. Waytula is the featured Artist-in-Residence for the month of September at the Eiteljorg Museum.

Event held in collaboration with the Eiteljorg Museum.

Stress Free Zone - December 4th through 8th, 2023 

Events held during Purdue's Quiet Week to help students prepare for finals and relieve stress with program, activities, and food! An added bonus, dinner (lunch on Friday) will be provided for students. All events will take place at the NAECC.

Create your own relaxation roller balls and bracelets with essential oils. 

Chair Massages

Free chair massages at the NAECC! Sign up for a 10 minute massage by contacting Tiffany Lechuga, email at tcusterl@purdue.edu or call 765-494-4540. Special thanks to Recreation and Wellness from Purdue Co-Rec for offering the massage therapy.
